James Bursey
In 2005, James finished a three year degree course in radio, television and film at Christchurch in Canterbury. During his time at university, he also worked at BBC Radio Kent on weekend specialist music shows presented by Dave Cash and sports output.
Since October 2007, James has worked at BBC Radio 1 where he began as an assistant producer on Fearne Cotton & Reggie Yates’ Chart and Request Show. On weekends, he then worked with Vernon Kay, Annie Mac, Chappers & Dave, Nihal and Dick & Dom.
From October 2008 to May 2009 he produced the Rob da Bank and Bobby Friction & Nihal specialist music shows. Since June 2009, James has been producing the brand new Nick Grimshaw weeknight evening show.
Between finishing his degree course, and in addition to working for network BBC Radio, James has produced the drive time show at BBC Radio Kent for two years, freelanced for BBC Radio Leeds, including presenting the overnight programme, worked on Children in Need with the BBC Special Features Unit for Nations and Regions at Broadcasting House and also for 2 years produced/presented a weekly radio show called BBC Kent Introducing on BBC Radio Kent every Sunday night between 8 and 9pm.
